Physical strength is important for people in the corporate world but mental strength is far more important. Physical weakness can be overcome by medication and rest but it is nearly impossible for mentally weak people to get back on their feet after a failure in the corporate world or any other field for that matter. That is why it is extremely important for entrepreneurs and professionals, especially in a developing country like Bangladesh to keep them psychologically strong. Here are 10 characteristics of a mentally strong person:

1. Never feel sorry for themselves: Failure is a part of life and mentally strong people know it very well. So they do not waste time feeling sorry for themselves. They give the whole incident one look to figure out what they did wrong and then they move past it. Mentally strong people are well aware of the fact that life is unfair and therefore they do not ponder over petty issues.

2. They take charge: Another sign of mental strength is strong leadership ability. They always take charge of the situation and act upon the need of the circumstances. Mentally strong people do not have a superiority complex but they do not feel inferior to the others as well.

3. Adaptation: Things are constantly changing in this world, specially in corporate world. People who want to progress in life adapt with the change gracefully. Mentally strong people test themselves in different environment and new situations to overcome their fear of the unknown. Only someone who is open to change can adapt to any situation and do their best.

4. Do not waste time on things beyond their control: Mentally strong people accept the fact that there are certain things that cannot be controlled. They do not lose sleep over small issues like unfavorable weather, political turmoil or transportation hindrance. They face these problems head-on and find a workaround to keep their daily routine smooth.

5. Be kind and fair: There are people in this world that has an uncontrollable need to please people regardless of how hard it becomes for them and there are people who do not care about others at. A mentally strong person is a perfect balance of these two. They are kind reasonable. If the other one if asking for something reasonable they do it gladly and if someone us demanding something totally unfair, they have the mental strength to say no to them.

6. Take risks: People who play it safe all the time cannot progress anywhere. Not being able to take risks is a sign of weakness. On the other hand taking risks without thinking them through is a sign of being foolish. People who are not afraid of taking calculated risks are mentally strong. They accept what worst case scenario and then act upon it.

7. Do not make the same mistake twice: People will always make mistakes; it is in human nature. But mentally strong people make sure they do not make the same mistake twice.

8. Do not feel jealousy: Only the strong can feel happiness when others find success in their work. They do not resent successful people; they find encouragement in their success and learn what they should do to have the same success.

9. Enjoys solidarity: Mentally strong people enjoy the lone times they get to organize their thoughts and make necessary plans. They are independent to make their own actions and ideas.

10. Patient: It takes a lot of strength to be patient in this fast world. It can take months or years to make even the best executed plan fruitful. Mentally strong people wait patiently for their work to bring some god results and at the same time they plan for their next action.
